This Batman: TAS-Style Fan Art of White Knight’s Neo-Joker is Perfection

Someone has given Neo-Joker the Bruce Timm treatment, and it looks perfect.

Created by writer and artist Sean Gordon Murphy for the hit comic book miniseries Batman: White Knight, Neo-Joker has quickly become a fan-favorite addition to the cast of villains in Gotham City. Artist Rick Celis released a drawing of Neo-Joker in the same style that Bruce Timm employed on Batman: The Animated Series, and Murphy approved with a retweet.

Introduced as Marian Drews, she was the second person to take up the Harley Quinn name after Harley Quinn walked out. Since the Joker never noticed, the cured Jack Napier mistakenly proposed to Marian instead of Harley. While Harley was in love with Jack, Marian loved the Joker, and now she’s taking on his role in order to bring her love back.

Many fans have pointed out that Batman: White Knight has seemed like a continuation of Batman: The Animated Series in many ways. Celis rendering the Neo-Joker as a member of the DC Animated Universe is not just a cool piece of art, but also a celebration of what the series has been trying to highlight.

Originally solicited as a seven-issue miniseries, Batman: White Knight has since added an eighth. Issue #5 is due to hit stores on February 7.
