Anime Series Like The Quintessential Quintuplets

As his family is in some serious debt, Fuutaro Uesugi is a serious penny pincher. However, his great grades have landed him a higher than normal paying tutor job. The problem is that his five wards, all sisters, are dumb as door nails and think he is a complete idiot. However, to get his pay, he has to think of a way to get these five unique girls to study and learn.

The Quintessential Quintuplets makes no attempt to hide its harem nature, but rest assured, this is comedy at its finest and not all bare skin. If you are looking for similar anime recommendations, we got you covered times five!

For Fans of Sisters

Domestic Girlfriend

Natsuo is in love with his teacher Hina. In order to try and forget his feelings, he goes to a mixer and meets a girl named Rui. Oddly enough, she asks him to do her a favor – to have sex with her. He does so, but soon he is faced with a unique problem. His father has remarried and he now has two new stepsisters that he knows too well – Rui and Hina.

Both series are new this season, and kind of similar. Of course, Domestic Girlfriend is definitely more of a drama than a comedy, but both series are about a guy that has building relationships with sisters.

Kiss x Sis

After his father got remarried, Keita found himself with a new mother and two twin step-sisters. However, as the girls transitioned into teenagers, their brotherly love for Keita turned into something more.

While The Quintessential Quintuplets keeps things rather reigned in with the sexual content, Kiss x Sis is unrestrained about it. It is a lot of dirty jokes and flirting while quintuplets gets their comedy through other means. However, both are series about sisters falling for one guy.

Minami-Ke

This is the story of three sisters: the responsible high school-aged Haruka, wild child middle schooler Kana, and the devious elementary school-aged Chiaki. They live together without their parents and go about their surprisingly average life. Helping each other get through everything from love confessions to cooking, this is the story of three average girls doing normal and slightly abnormal things.

Unlike the Quintessential Quintuplets, Minami-ke isn’t a romantic harem anime. Instead, it is a pure gag comedy anime about three sisters and the friends they have. There is some light romance, but it is more for comedic effect and never really realized.

For Fans of Studious Harem Kings

The Royal Tutor

Heine Wittgenstein is the royal tutor in the court of king Grannzreich. Unfortunately for this little professor, he has a big job cut out for him by being in charge of the education for the king’s four distinctly personalitied sons.

Both are obviously anime series about the main character tutoring a bunch of dum-dums. The difference is that they are all male in the Royal Tutor. However, both shows manage to make the tutoring subjects unique and quirky, which compared with the straight-laced tutor creates the comedy.

Oreshura

After being abandoned by his love-addled parents, Eita Kidou is a bit put off by romance. It also causes him to see through the love confession of one, Masuzu Natsukawa. As it turns out, she just wanted a boyfriend to stop the daily love confessions. While he initially declines, she takes to blackmailing him to be her fake boyfriend.

The interesting thing about both of these series is that they are both romantic harem shows, yes, but they feature a harem king that is not a pervert or some generic hero. Instead, he is a studious young man that doesn’t actually really care about falling in love. It adds an extra layer of interest to these romantic comedies.

Three Way Struggle

Yabe Satoshi is a new teacher, and he has a problem. As a new teacher, he is the constant target for the wild and unique Marui triplets. He gets pushed around, and on occasion, pushed towards the clumsy school nurse, Kuriyama Aiko. While he doesn’t want to date her, the three triplets have other ideas.

While these two anime series share multi-sister groups, they definitely don’t have the same dynamic. In both tales, yes, they are the main character’s source of major conflict, but in Three Way Struggle, the romance comes between him and the nurse, thankfully not the elementary-aged triplets.

For Fans of Connected Harem Members

Nisekoi

Ten years ago, Raku Ichijou made a promise with a childhood friend. In the present day, this heir apparent to an intimidating yakuza family continues to wait for his friend’s return while trying to be as uninvolved in family matters as possible. However, when a rival gang invades his family’s turf, the family leaders decide Raku should start a romantic relationship with the other chief’s daughter, Chitoge.

Aside from being romantic harem shows, these two appear to have nothing else in common, but that’s not so. In both series, you watch the main character bond and fall in love with the many women of his harem. The main girl you think is the main, may not be the main girl. It is frustrating and you will want to see how it ends up.

Haganai

Kodaka Hasegawa is anything but a delinquent. However, because of his blonde hair and bad boy face, he has been labeled as such. When classmates shiver in your presence, it makes it difficult to make friends. Yet, when Kodaka meets Yozora, a girl that is perhaps a bigger outcast than him, the pair start the Neighbors’ Club. In the Neighbors’ Club, those without any friends are invited to join, but not all personalities may mesh well.

Like sisters, the girls in Haganai are bound by their club. Furthermore, you find out that each girl is quirky in her own way, leading to issues when it comes to the relatively average harem king.

Monster Musume

With his parents abroad, Kimihito Kurusu is living the quiet alone life. Or rather, he was until an incompetent interspecies exchange coordinator made him the caretakers of a Lamia named Miia. With a supernatural creature now living in his house, it serves to not only break up his peace, but attract other supernatural beings as well.

While Monster Musume has a supernatural twist. It has a similar plot. While the girls don’t live with their tutor in the Quintessential Quintuplets, he spends a lot of time at their home taking care of their studies. Similarly, Kurusu has to take care of the supernatural creature women that end up in his life.
